USS Marblehead (CL-12) was an Omaha-class light cruiser of the United States Navy. Marblehead was commissioned on 8 September 1924, Captain Chauncey Shackford in command,2nd largest ship in USN asiatic fleet until good fortune allowed them to commandeer the USS Boise from its escort duty... heavily damage from battle and air attack marblehead headed home and made it inspite of critical damage
